IMA Bellevue Chapter Board

Volunteers are welcome for the 2008-2009 fiscal year (July-June) chapter board positions.

Contact the Chapter President to find out about the opportunities (or see Board Positions for general descriptions of all positions). Serving on the chapter board helps you develop and enhance your leadership and teamwork skills, and it enables the chapter to provide needed services to its members. Without volunteers there is no chapter!

Board meetings are held immediately following the monthly meeting.

Descriptions of all Board Positions
PositionDescription
President Chief administrative officer, develops annual strategic plan, chairs board meetings, coordinates volunteers' assignments. Elected by prior year's Board.
Treasurer Maintains chapter's financial records, collects event fees, deposits and withdraws chapter funds, reconciles bank statements, prepares monthly budgets.
SecretaryRecords attendance and reports minutes of monthly Board meetings. Maintains chapter membership list. May act as chapter historian.
V.P. AdministrationReports chapter activity (e.g., meetings, events, member and student contacts) to IMA National for chapter performance standing.
V.P. Membership Coordinates membership recruiting and contact activities, encourages participation, requests members feedback, and conducts membership surveys.
V.P. CommunicationsPrepares press releases and email annoucements for upcoming meetings and events.
V.P. Professional EducationResponsible for new member, student and business contacts to educate them about the IMA and CMA/CFM certifications.
V.P. of MeetingsPlans meeting facitilities. Receives meeting RSVPs and coordinates attendance with the facility. Records meeting attendance.
Newsletter Editor Prepares and edits chapter newsletters, coordinates with the printer for publication and mailing and webmaster for online publication.
Sponsorship DirectorCoordinates sponsorship and advertisement activity.
Scholarship DirectorCoordinates fund raising and processing applications for our student, CMA and CFM scholarships.
Community Service DirectorCoordinates one or more community service activities for the chapter to support each year.
Student LiaisonStudent position A student from a University that is our liaison with the student chapters.
Professor position: Attends one or more student chapter meetings, give presentations on campus.
Webmaster Maintains the chapter website. May include Job List and Newsletter Email List management.
Newsletter Mailing List Updates the newsletter mailing list with information provided by members and from IMA National.
Job ListFocal for receiving job opportunities, coordinates with newsletter editor and webmaster to inform members.
Regional Council Delegate Represents the chapter at the Regional Council.
Chair Chapter Nominating CommitteeRecommends board nominees for the following year and/or to replace or fill empty positions.
Advisor/Member Emeritus Advises Chapter Board. Active past chapter presidents are automatically considered board members, advisors and members emeritus.
All Positions Any and all Board members may submit and vote on chapter resolutions, support the annual event and speaker planning (July - Aug. meetings), and may host dinner speakers. Board positions may be held for one or multiple years.
